Tak at the New York Asian Film Festival! [08 Jun 2009|12:09pm]

Hi all!

I wanted to share the news about Tak's upcoming appearances in New York this month. He'll be promoting three of his films: Sakigake!! Otokojuku, Yoroi: Samurai Zombie, and the brand-spanking new Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl (directed by Nishimura Yoshihiro).

For a complete breakdown of Tak-related appearances, check out this entry on my website. Or check in with the official festival guide.

Sakigake!! Otokojuku US DVD Release... [02 May 2009|12:07am]

...and other news.

US distributor Tokyo Shock will be releasing Tak's directorial debut on the 22nd of June. No word on the extras yet, but Nippon Cinema has the official notification and Amazon has established a pre-order page. According to the Team ZERO'S blog, Tak has plans to visit New York in June as well - so that might shape up to be a banner month for American fans.

On a different front, I've recently made translations of three 2005 articles on Shinobi: Heart Under Blade; they each contain interesting information about Tak's involvement with that production.

Check them out here:
Cinema Topics Online, 17 September 2005.
Official Shinobi Blog, 30 September 2005.

Introduction. [26 Nov 2008|09:49pm]

Hello there fellow Tak Sakaguchi fans!

I'm starting up a blog that focuses on translating information from Tak Sakaguchi's blog, as well as other websites, interviews, and media files. It's slow going, I admit; right now I'm still working my way through old posts. I just finished March and April 2008 and as soon as I have time I'll move on to May and June, and beyond!

I hope you will all enjoy keeping track of Tak's current and upcoming projects with me. Please feel free to friend me and/or spread the word! And I'll be posting here about any interesting updates that I run across. Just recently, I've posted some cool stuff from Shimomura Yûji's blog--including links to some awesome early Tak videos. You can view it all at my personal blog: http://tak-in-english.livejournal.com/

I'm looking forward to the exchange of info! Nice to meet you all. =]

New Member here with some news! [05 Jul 2007|05:23pm]

[ mood | excited ]

Hiya all! I'm new <3

I've been a Tak fan for a bit...he's a cool guy. So I joined. I loved him in Shinobi and Versus, and I'm working on seeing all of the movies he's in. Any suggestions on good ones?

Cool bit of news I found out if you're also a fan of Ryuhei Kitamura (the director of Versus) himself:

Anyone attending Otakon this year will be excited to find out that Ryuhei Kitamura, the director of Versus, will be there as a guest this year.  For those of you who don't already know, Otakon is an anime convention in Baltimore, MD at the Baltimore Convention Center (July 19-22nd). If you wish to attend, you may pre-register on their site otakon.com up until June 11th. I think pre-registration now is $50, and $60 at the door.  There is no attendance limit this year, so getting in should be absolutely no problem.

Thought I'd share, even if I did just find this out a few minutes ago.   :3 I'll post pictures after I get home from the convention, since I'm going all out to get to Kitamura-san's panel.

Taku-satsu [04 Jan 2007|10:13pm]

Starting at episode 41, Tak started appearing as a villain on Kamen Rider Kabuto. You can watch the episodes on youtube unsubbed or, if you have a bitorrent client, you can download them from TV Nihon.

Also, Ultimate Versus is finally getting a US release at the end of March.

Death Trance's Premium Edition [20 Oct 2006|07:31pm]

[ mood | curious ]

Just wondering, does anyone know what's on the Premium Edition of "Death Trance"??? I want to know what kind of extra stuff are included in comparison to the American edition that was released some time this summer. If it has some cool stuff on it, then perhaps I'll buy it.

If anyone can help me out, then I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

I heard about the Premium Edition from this spiffy site: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=GNBD-7280

here's another site! [23 Aug 2006|02:39pm]

[ mood | curious ]

YAY! Found another site through the fanlisting of Tak Sakaguchi's director in Death Trance. I believe this is his blog. Not sure, you will have to refer back to the site itself and find out. Since its in Japanese, I dont know.
Im assuming since there are not many American fans...most sites pertaining to the most handsome Sakaguchi, will be in Japanese. Maybe we need to start learning! LOL.
